ALOHA!

After months of getting ready we FINALLY made it! This is what we woke up to every morning, blue skies sunny and warm. It had rained in Maui for three weeks before we got there and we had not one drop!

We were tired after a long day of travel, but were excited to be there


We ate breakfast every morning at the all you can eat buffett, and the scale definately shows it!

Greg won the tournament(200 bucks), I lost this tournament for so many of these people. We played doubles and lets just say I didn't know the ball couldn't bounce twice before you hit it. I know for sure the reason Greg won is because he never had me as his partner! There was also 2nd -6th place and not one person that I was paired with won any money.

Book Club

This month I read Follow The River, by James Alexander Thom. It was a good book, very sad at times. Mary Ingles was 23, happily married, and pregnant with her third child when Shawnee Indians invaded her peaceful Virginia settlement in 1755 and kidnapped her, leaving behind a bloody massacre. For months they held her captive. But nothing could imprison her spirit. With the rushing Ohio river as her guide, Mary Ingles walked one thousand miles through an untamed wilderness no white women had ever seen. Her story lives on extraordinary testimony to the indomitable strength of one pioneer women who risked her life to return to her own people. After reading this book I realized why I was born in the 70's and not the 1700's, I could have never done what she did! If you read this book let me know what you think. Well I'm off to Hawaii where I will start reading my next book The Sunflower, by Richard Paul Evans.

Halle's day at school lunch

Halle has been begging me to take her to school lunch, so the other day I finally gave in. She was so excited to go to school and eat lunch like Jake and Presley. Even though she was eating school lunch she wanted to pack her Barbie lunch box with something, so she brought enough granola bars for just about everyone in the lunch room! Jake loved having her there showing off his little sister, Presley on the other hand didn't mind Halle there but was a little embarrased of me taking all the pics!Fish Sticks yummy, yummy(NOT!)

Book Club

Ok, who would of thought that I would have joined a book club! The only thing I have been reading is the Us Weekly I get every Friday. So I joined a book club, and Greg said "your doing what?". Anyway I thought I would let all of you know what book I am reading for the month and what I thought of it. This month I am reading Follow The River, written by James Alexander Thom. I have to have it read by Feb 7th, and yes I have started. I will let all of you know how it is, and mabe I can inspire someone else to read something other than trashy entertainment magazines!

Last night I took Presley and her friends to the University of Utah season opener gymnastics meet, they won! We had a ton of fun.

Classic Fun!

My neighbors invited us to Classic Fun Center the other day and Halle had a blast! I had no idea they were open in the day. Mon Wed and Fridays they are open from 10-5 and it's only 5 bucks for the skate and bouce pass. With the older kids in school, their was hardly anyone there. Halle loved riding her scooter to the music (especially Hannah Montanna). I love when I find new things to do in this cold weather. I'm sure we will be going there alot, see you there!

HAPPY NEW YEAR!

We had so much fun celebrating the New Year at Grandma's . We ate WAY too much food, played games, made malts, watched movies and toasted in the New Year with sparkling apple cider!

Halle once again entertained us by dancing to her new Hannah Montanna cd, that she won't leave home without!
